I just put them on there. I had a fair idea where I wanted them - and I took inspiration from paleomaps - but I hadn't drawn them. But there should be only a little distortion on that one (some yes, any flat projection of a curved surface has some and more than a sinusoidal map because the points have straight rather than curved sides). It's if/when I do a mercator or similar unexploded projection that the disortion will be noticible.
And 30% yes. Sea coverage on Earth is 70%, this is supposed to be roughly earthlike so 30% land. (Though the lack of current blocking at the equator makes things interesting).
